In December 2011 the export of steel scrap from Russian federation (including r/w deliveries to the Customs Union countries) have made 519,4 thousand tons.

In comparison with the last month, volumes of deliveries have increased by 4,8 %, and in annual calculation - have increased by 3,6 %.

As a whole for January-December 2011, volumes of export of the Russian steel scrap have reached 5,5 million tons, that on 27,5 % above a corresponding indicator of 2010 Level of 2009 is surpassed in 1,9 times. However in comparison with the same periods pre-crisis 2006-2008 steel scrap export during the current year was reduced on the average in 1,6 times.

Last year Turkey has returned the status of the main buyer of the Russian steel scrap, having outstripped the unconditional leader of the last two years - Republic Belarus. According to the results of a year the part of Turkey in all Russian export has reached 37,0 %, Republic Belarus- 30,0 %.
